What is a company card?

The Company Card is an electronic smart card similar in size to a photo driving licence / credit card and will be issued (upon application) by DVLA. The company card ensures only authorised persons have access to company-related data held on the Digital Tachograph. For example the card allows displaying, downloading and printing of the data stored in the vehicle unit or on the driver card. The Company Card can also be used to "lock in" and "lock out" the data so that the data will be accessible to that company but inaccessible to any other company, which may use the vehicle in the future.

What data is stored on the company card?

The card identification details and information about the company are stored on the company card. Mass memory data cannot be stored on the company card.
